WHAT’S A RESOURCE BARN???
We were really busy thinking up names for all the places we wanted
the website to have, and we started calling them barns, because that’s
what farms have. Barns. Since the barns have to have some sort of
name, we came up with a name that followed it’s intended function.
This barn is intended to be the catch all for the things that aren’t about
the farm at Snowridge Appaloosas, but are about ideas, information, places,
or commentary that comes from many different sources, which should be shared
and available to people who want it, need it, or can make use of it.
The various folders we have created here for the topics are, we hope,
open to any material, ideas, or information that will contribute to the
common good. Contributions from others that follow this notion will
be accepted for access to them in this barn, as long as the standards of
propriety and good taste are reasonably followed. The notion that
we will become an outlet for other’s agendas should be discouraged, as
that is unlikely to occur separate from those of the Herdmaster.
The plan is to ultimately provide the contents in the resource barn
in PDF format that can be downloaded by the viewer and opened using the
ADOBE READER program available free from Adobe Software. Its
easy to handle, access, and distribute via the internet, and convenient
to convert to hard copy form, so it seems like a good choice. We
will be filling the folders initially, but will be open to submissions
from others wanting to share an idea, perspective, or solution to a common
problem.
